Youth & Teen Support
Growing confidence. Building independence. Finding their community. Support for young participants that respects who they are and where they are headed.
For young participants
Not childcare. Not a program. Real support.
Youth and teen support at Banksia Care is designed for young participants who need practical assistance, social connection, skill development and genuine engagement, not a generic group activity or a supervised waiting room.
Support is built around the individual young person: their interests, their communication, their sensory needs and their goals. Whether that means cooking, gaming, sport, art, community outings or simply having someone to talk to, the support reflects who they actually are.
Support may include
- Community participation and social connection
- Life skills including cooking, nutrition and household routines
- Hobbies, recreation and interest-based activities
- School holiday activities and Hub programs
- Confidence building and independence development
- Homework support and learning routines where appropriate
- School navigation and support-unit guidance
- Community outings and everyday experiences
Support can occur
At home
In-home support within familiar surroundings.
In the community
Outings, activities and social experiences in the community.
At the Hub
Hub-based programs when the facility opens.
At school where appropriate
School-related support where arrangements permit.
School navigation
Sometimes the hardest part is knowing where to start.
Banksia Care can provide practical guidance around navigating school-related support pathways, helping families raise concerns with schools, explore available disability supports, understand steps involved in making enquiries, prepare for school meetings and connect with relevant services. Banksia Care does not determine school placement or eligibility.
