Aged care, Support at Home program
Aged care that fits around real life.
Banksia Care is a registered aged care provider delivering services under the Support at Home program across Gregory Hills, Camden, Campbelltown and surrounding areas. We handle the paperwork, the portal and the phone calls, so families can focus on what actually matters.
The Support at Home program
What changed on 1 July 2025.
The Support at Home program commenced on 1 July 2025, replacing the Home Care Packages program and the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP). It is the Australian Government's funded in-home aged care program for eligible older Australians, delivered under the Aged Care Act 2024.
Access begins through My Aged Care: the government's entry point for aged care assessment and services. An Aged Care Assessment determines eligibility and the level of government subsidy available. Banksia Care can help families understand what that process involves and what to expect.
We know the My Aged Care portal is not straightforward. We know the assessment process can feel clinical and stressful. Part of what we do is sit alongside families through that process, not just turn up once funding is confirmed.
We handle the heavy lifting
Less time on hold. More time with the people you love.
Getting aged care funding set up involves forms, assessments, income and asset disclosures, Centrelink correspondence and ongoing reporting. For families already stretched thin, that administrative load can be the thing that stops them accessing support at all.
Banksia Care assists families with the paperwork side of aged care, including income and asset updates, Centrelink correspondence nominee arrangements, and navigating the My Aged Care portal. We do not charge separately for this. It is part of how we work.
My Aged Care portal navigation
We help families understand the portal, track assessment status and respond to requests for information.
Income and asset updates
Keeping Centrelink records current to ensure the correct government subsidy is applied and avoid unexpected fee adjustments.
Centrelink correspondence nominees
Establishing nominee arrangements so that correspondence reaches the right person and important letters do not go unanswered.
Provider transitions
If a family is moving from another provider, we manage the transition process and ensure there is no gap in services.
What we deliver
Services delivered with dignity.
Personal care
Dignified, respectful assistance with showering, dressing, grooming and personal hygiene. Delivered by consistent workers who understand that routine matters and that privacy is not negotiable.
Domestic assistance
Practical help with cleaning, laundry, home organisation and maintaining a safe, comfortable living environment. The kind of support that makes staying at home genuinely sustainable.
Meal preparation
Grocery shopping, meal planning and cooking with attention to dietary needs, preferences and the pleasure of a well-prepared meal. Food is not just nutrition. It is part of daily life.
Social support and outings
Companionship, community connection and support to maintain relationships and participate in activities that matter to the person. Isolation is a real risk in aged care, we take it seriously.
Transport and appointments
Support to attend medical appointments, community activities and everyday errands, with a familiar worker who understands the person's needs and pace.
Respite for carers
Planned and flexible respite to give family carers time to rest, work and attend to their own lives. Delivered in-home, on a schedule that works for the family.
Fees and subsidies
Government subsidy price caps. Zero hidden fees.
All Banksia Care aged care services are delivered within the legislated government subsidy price caps set under the Support at Home program. We do not charge above the applicable price limits, and we do not add fees that are not disclosed in writing before services commence.
Depending on a person's income and assets, a basic daily fee or an income-tested care fee may apply. These are set by the government, not by Banksia Care. We explain exactly what fees apply before any service begins, and we provide written service agreements that set out costs clearly.
If your circumstances change and fees need to be reviewed, we work with you through that process. No one should be surprised by a bill they were not expecting.
Quality and safety
Regulated to the Aged Care Quality Standards.
Banksia Care's aged care services are delivered in accordance with the Aged Care Quality Standards, administered by the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission. The Standards cover consumer dignity and choice, ongoing assessment and planning, personal and clinical care, services and supports for daily living, the service environment, feedback and complaints, human resources and organisational governance.
